The ViewSite™ Brain Access System

A revolutionary approach in brain retraction. Each VBAS system consists of an introducer and a stable working channel port that allows the surgeon a seamless entry to the targeted site while distributing brain tissue evenly in a 360° dispersion pattern. Other VBAS benefits include superior binocular vision to see in and around the surgical site; multiple sizes in different widths and lengths to meet all surgical needs and compatibility with standard fixation arms to avoid accidental displacement or movement during surgery.

VBAS comes with an optional Alignment Clip that can be assembled onto the top of the introducer and allows for the most common neuronavigation pointers to be fully integrated into the body of the VBAS such that a neurosurgeon can advance the VBAS and navigational pointer as one unit to the target site.

The Alignment Clip accommodates pointers with Ø3.1mm to Ø4.25mm in shaft diameter which covers the most common neuronavigational pointers on the market.

The cup at the distal end of the introducer prevents any sideways movement of the tip of the Pointer when fully seated which ensures vertical alignment.

VBAS vs Standard Retractors

The goal of safely accessing the surgical site and creating a clear and stable working channel to perform delicate procedures is what VBAS is all about. There is no pulling on the surgical site numerous times to see the selected area and no clutter of instrumentation during the procedure. The ample working channel allows for multiple instruments to be used simultaneously while providing an excellent depth of view of the site as well as the brain wall. The working channel comes in five widths – 6mm, 12mm, 17mm, 21mm and 28mm and three lengths 3, 5 and 7cm to meet your exact requirements (6mm comes in 5 and 7cm lengths only).
